positive movements

Have continued to play quite well since last post and results have improved. Non-showdown is getting a lot better and im not spewing buy ins and trying to bluff stations postflop. Current roll is $1173 which puts me a massive $173 in the green from about 42k hands. My main focus for the next couple of days is getting the required 894 VPP's for platinum star. I've got until the 31st so i just need to log some decent sessions and i should get there. Only problem is that ive gone over the cap on my internet so its very laggy at times.

Here's a graph since my last post. Not much volume but the redline is getting sexy (apart from rght at the end. WTF!)

Battling along

Had a decent rest from cards for a few days then got stuck back into the grind. Results have been mixed with today a good example of this. Since last post i think i've played around 12k hands with only a slight profit. My graph for the last 40k hands deadset looks like a seismograph.

If im being honest with myself i've definitely tilted/jizzed a few buy ins here and there making stupid bluffs etc so im still quietly confident that i can start hitting the green soon. Currently im
- $54 from my starting point. As well, im starting to win much more redline money. I just need to stop tilting buy ins when i have a bad patch!

Anyway here's todays graph. It was a battle.

Graph for the month thus far:

Total graph:

Goals for the rest of March (6 more days!)
1. Win 6 buy ins/$300
2. Don't compound losses with further losses from tilt.
3. Stop trying to bluff stations
4. Achieve platinum star:
--> need 1344 more VPP = ~225 per day.
If i can complete these goals i will be happy.

Giving it a rest

More losses this morning and im pretty much ready to quit. I just cant rationalise being down $300 after 30k hands and continuing this shit. Biggest waste of 3 weeks i could ever imagine. Really have been playing fine lately, its just hands like this that make you want to go murder someone.

My ev is bad without being horrible though. Im close to 6 buy ins under ev but the real killer is the amount of times people have sucked out on me on the turn. eg:

The long and short of it is that im going to send my staker back whats left of my roll (around $700) take a decent break from poker for a few weeks then consider my options.

Absolutely gutted.

All the optimism from last post has been ribbed to shreds and spat on. Had an absolutely fucking horrible day today losing like $300. Seriously didn't get any action at all ever on my big hands and when i did they had AA. Missed everything single draw, especially the crucial combo draws (ie straight flush draw all in on the flop). It's 3:02am right now and i've played like 4k hands today or something stupid. Can't believe how bad its gone and how i can be going so badly. Currently played like 26k hands and am still fucking losing. Its so infuriating.

When me staker comes online im pretty tempted to tell him my situation and throw in the towel at NL50. I've run so fucking bad here its ridiculous.

EVEN STEVEN!

After 20,000 brutal, brutal hands im finally back to even. Well 50c in the green to be exact. I suppose i started off winning like 2 buy ins but that brutal 13 buy in downswing really did take some time to recover from.

The plan now is to continue playing well. I feel that since the start of March i have made some promising changes to my game in a variety of areas. Holdem manager has certainly been a god send as i have already mentioned a few times. Here is the current graph for March.

The plan now for the rest of the month is:

1. play 30k more hands
- this requires i play on average 1666 per day which, if im 6 tabling, should take about 3 hours a day. Quite a solid amount but for once in my life i actually want to log some decent volume! This would make it a 40k hand month which would be my biggest ever.

2. Maintain atleast 5bb/100 for March
- Currently running at 9.35bb which is fairly hot imo.

3. Maintain a strict 3 buy in per session stop loss.

getting sick of the swings.

Everytime i seem to get close to even i hit another 3 or 4 buy in downswing. Getting fucking over it tbh. Feeling very disheartened and frustrated right now which must be affecting my game. I just can't seem to able to string a few good sessions together. Winning absolutely no flips and donks are just making the most ridiculous call downs against me with mid pair etc. They never seem to call down when i have the goods, just when i have a draw etc. FK IT!

Anyway once again im gonna go back to the drawing board. Going to watch 2 vids this evening and really try focus on what they are doing that im not. Im semi considering switching sites because logging on to stars is seeming like the biggest chore at the moment.

the comeback

At the start of March i decided to really analyse my game and previous hands to see what i was doing wrong. While i was definitely running bad i was probably making some bad decisions as well which compounded the bad run. Anyway i decided to buy HoldemManager which has proved awesome. This, combined with watching some vids has helped me tweak my game and start making better decisions.

anywho don't really feel like writing much because i lost my week and half old nokia e71 last night on the bus ride home. FML.

Go fuck yourself Feb!

So as Feb closes and March begins all i can do is reflect on what was the worst week of poker i've ever experienced.
Anyway im putting that shit behind me and am looking forward to March being one big heater. Not going to make any specific profit goals other than to hope i have a positive win rate. Going to try watch a heap of videos as well and really analyze my game.
