Steady grinding

Everything is going pretty steady at the moment. Im not running as hot as before, but that is to be expected. Currently my bb is closed to 10 which i can hopefulyl maintain. Had my first semi-downswing at about the 2200 hand mark. Have managed to recover fairly well and the roll now sits at $190.65

I HATE MTT'S

Just finished a $4.40 buy in, 180 person MTT on stars. Now i remember why i hate poker tourneys.
Had survived the 1st break with a modest stack of around 2.5k. Managed to build after the break to about10k, placing me 8th out of around 32.
A few hands later i get aces. Blinds at 150 / 300. Their are a few limpers, including the table big stack. I repop to 1100 and am eventually called by the big stack.
Flop brings an innocent 7c 9d 2c. Big stack bets out 3/4 pot and a re-raising match ensues. Eventually i am placed all in and the villain reveals a joyous 89s.
The turn brings a 3 and the the sickening river seals my fate with the 8 of diamonds. His woeful two-pair destroys my aces. Sickening.
The hand can be seen on the link below. Obviously tourneys of any variety (including sng's) will be taking a back seat and i will be focusing solely on cash games. Current roll is $174.50

pwning the micro limits

Things are going nicely at the moment. While i'll be the first to admit that its only short term and more than likely im just running hot, it's always good to start well. As the picture shows over 1500 hands im running at about 19.5BB/ 100 hands. I doubt this is sustainable over the long term but will be happy to run at about 12bb for nl10.
Here is one of my hands from today. http://www.pokerhand.org/?1740813
Thought it was a fairly interesting spot. If anyone has any thoughts on the hand i would interested to hear them.

Good start

Good start!
Played for a few hours, 6 tabling on average. Didn't get tracker working straight away because of issues with importing hand histories from my gmail accounting. Resultantly, only 700 odd hands were recorded.
Still managed to pull in about 7 buy ins (buying in for $6). Not bad by any standards. Bankroll currently sits at $142.65.

My first post

Hey,

I'm making this blog to help me improve as a poker player. Basically at this point in time i have just started my university holidays (which carry on until March!). I have $100 on poker stars and am about to start grinding nl10 (micro limits). Hopefully having this blog will allow others to comment on my play etc and help me grow as a player.

My basic plan at the moment is to multi-table nl10, buying in for $6. My current roll of $100 probably isn't sufficient to allow a $6 buy in, but hopefully i can run lucky early and get to about $120, which would ensure i have a comfortable 20 buy ins for nl10.

My goal overall is to reach a bankroll of around $1000 by around february/ March, which would allow me to play nl50. At this level, if i can maintain a consistent win rate of around 6bb/100 hands i should be making a nice amount per hour, superior to my current job.

Well time to hit the tables.
