A better day

A better result today after yesterday's shit fight. Still a decent amount of swongyness but generally things headed in the right direction.
Me and my mate were discussing the possiblity of a 20k hand week next week which would require a tad below 3k hands a day. I would then jet off on my holiday to thailand with a decent amount of volume for January. Could be a plan.

Today was a joke.

I started today with the roll at $570. After some initial grinding at my friends beach house the roll dropped to $480 then i managed to get it back to $570. Unfortunately i didn't get the hh from this session. I then returned home and played an awesome session where i won like 3 buy ins. Unfortunately this evenings session saw me lose these buy ins plus an extra one. I just ran like fucking shit. Might take tomorrow off and try grind next week. Such a painful day.

more changes!

Since last post i have split with my original backer to start up with someone else who has offered me a 50/50 return plus all FPP's earned. Previously i had been getting only 35% of the profits which just seemed too low. I sent my original backer his portion of the profits, plus his original investment and im ready to start afresh.

At the moment im just finalising terms with the new backer so i should be starting up in the very new future. Once again the deal is for NL50 with a view to move to higher stakes when the roll allows for it. In the meantime i have been playing NL25 with my own $735 roll which i moved from cake to stars. Looking forward to hitting NL50 again though.

GOD MODE

Just got back from my friend's beach house where i've been since Tuesday. I didn't expect to play at all but he had a computer with good internet so i decided to give it a crack. On Wednesday i managed to win about $70, but then this morning i logged onto the computer and lost all that back plus about $50. Unfortunately i wasn't able to save the hand history which documented this downswing.

I arrived home about lunch time today and decided to log a session. In only 239 hands i managed to pull in over 3 buy ins. Ship it! Once again a combination of run good and bad play by opponents. Managed to stack the same guy twice in like 20 hands. LOL!

Anyway total roll is now $1119. Gonna speak to my backer and try renegotiate our agreement. He said that we would look at altering it if i could win a few buy ins and prove that i was trustworthy etc. Hopefully i can get something like 50/50 going which would be very acceptable.

Relaxed and running good.

Returned from the grandparents house last night and played a small session. Didn't check the cashier throughout the sesh and thought i broke even. Sure enough i was actually up a buy in. Pretty cool feeling to be up $50 and not even realise it after grinding nl5 & nl10 etc for so long. Anywho just logged another session this morning and pulled in 2 more buy ins. Im playing well and running like greased up electrical jesus at the moment. These are the times you just love poker. It seems so funny that i can hate this game so much sometimes but then have these periods. So often i finish a bad session or i have a bad 5k hand patch and think to myself "why the fuck do i bother?" I guess the times when you run good always remain at the back of your mind and help motivate you during the shit times.

Proof of the godmode: http://www.pokerhand.org/?3705978

--> this guy was a absolute uber donk but i had a distinct feeling he might have had AA. The old limp, min 4 bet (i think thats what he did??) screams uber strength so i decided to just call pf and re-evaluate later on. I decide to lead the flop to get a feel for what he might have. The gives me the club draw and at this point im really confused over what he might have. Surely he would rr either the flop or the turn if he did in fact have AA. Anyway the river is just creamy goodness. I don't put him on the flushdraw or anything and decide to shove for value. He tanks for a while then makes a pretty shite call imo. I run good!

The funny thing is that im getting staked now so obv this isn't all mine. Im still eager to play though and try move up levels with my staker.

Some mild gaming

Played some more NL50 with decent results. Up almost $180 there now after ~1400 hands. At the moment im 3 tabling which really seems to be helping with me with my play overall. After typically playing no less than 8 tables (usually 10-12) for so long at NL5 & NL10 and just auto-piloting, you almost forget how much of poker is postflop. I definitely think i've been able to make some +EV decisions because i have been able to focus on specific players and their actions pre and post flop.

Definitely running decently at the moment which helps. Seem to be getting it all against players who have a decent hand yet mine is just superior. Hopefully this continues for a while.

It's 1:41am and i leave to go visit my grandparents tomorrow morning at 7am :( Therefore poker will have to wait until Monday.

Big changes!

Well since last post i started a staking deal for NL50 at stars. At the moment me and my backer are starting on a 65/35 split (65 his favour, 35 mine) just to begin with. If all goes well this will extended in my favour to something like 60/40 or 55/45. I left my cake bankroll at $460. Not too sure what to do it with it at the moment. Im going to be focussing more on NL50 so Cake might get neglected but i dont' want to cash out just yet.

Anyway i've only played a tiny amount at NL50. Thus far im up just over a buy in. The good thing about beign staked is that you don't play scared money (which is what would happen if it was my own money), so im free to make the best moves i think possible without the fear of losing money. Anyway i thought i'd establish some goals for NL50:

- playing 40k hands for the rest of January.
- Beat it at 4bb/100 (if i can do this i would be super happy)
- Maintain a 6 buy in per day stop loss (as instructed by my backer).
- Never more than 4 tables.

swongs

Unfortunately after grinding for a while on Saturday i managed to corrupt my hand histories from most of the day. By the end of the day i had gone from $416 to $440 down to $350 and then to $392 my original starting point. I decided to call it a day here. I fired the tables back up on Sunday night/ early monday monring and thus far things have been ok:

running about 2 buy ins under ev ($40) which doesn't help. The players seem sooooo bad at cake. They are absolute stations who can't fold flush draws/ straight draws. When i eventually run hot i reckon i could easily have like a 5 buy session which would be lovely.

Roll is $478.

Edit: just played another live session at the casino and won $110.

A new month and a new beginning

Well i decided to remove my $392 roll from Pokerstars and look for another site with rakeback and bonuses etc. In my opnion Stars just didn't offer enough rewards for micro grinders like me. FPP's wise i have like 2.4k so i might enter some satelite's and try parlay any tournaments dollars etc in some kind of roll.

Anyway i have since moved my money to Cake poker where im currently playing NL20 and trying to clear a 100% deposit bonus. This is obviously going to take quite a while but luckily its released in $10 increments. As well, i will be getting 33% rakeback when the bonus finishes clearing. Currently the roll is $416.95

I played a bit of live poker last night with some mates at the local casino. Won $250 at the 1/2 $80 buy in game which was very nice.

and thats December!

Well its New Years day here in Aus and thus officially the end of December. Im quite hungover at the moment after a big night spent saying good bye to 2008! I have an even bigger day today with Field day; a dance music festival held annually here in Aus. Here's a clip from the 2007 one: http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=F3qJXZaM7kg

Anyway here's my final graph and stats for December.

From recollection my goals for December were to play 60k hands & win $1000. Obviously i played like half that many hands so thats a fail and i won about $900 Aus so thats also a fail. Overall im happy with the results though and am looking forward to a good January.
